About Mother ’N Goose!

Mother Goose’s alter ego, Lisa D. Welsh has been a professional communicator for more than 20 years. As a newspaper and magazine reporter, she understands the powerful impact that words have and the important correlation between reading and writing.

Mrs. Welsh didn’t grow up on a farm, but she did spend a lot of time in her mother’s dance studio in Westboro where she was the favorite teacher to the youngest dancers. As a child herself, she performed in Community Theater and as a teenager performed the lead role in an ABC After School Special. With this lifelong background in the arts and a bachelor’s degree of science in Mass Communications with a speech minor, Mrs. Welsh brings the character of Mother Goose to life.

As the real mother to three children, Mrs. Welsh knows what makes a good birthday party but also has faced the challenge to find an appropriate activity for those special younger years, from three to four-years of age.  And as a longtime PTO member (with the all-important CORI approval), she has chaired committees for Spree Days and enrichment programs. She’s seen first hand what’s appropriate for small groups as well as large assemblies.
